Bulgarian, Romanian and American soldiers demonstrated crisis response capabilities during a special press day of the multinational exercise "Trojan Footprint 24" at the Tyrcha polygon in the Pazardjik region, Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reports.

The largest NATO Special Operations Forces exercise in Europe is taking place on the territories of Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Romania and Germany.

Meanwhile, the supreme commander of NATO's Allied Command for Transformation, General Philippe Lavigne, is in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia.

The official part of General Philippe Lavigne's visit to Bulgaria began with a meeting with the Bulgarian Chief of Defence, Admiral Emil Eftimov, after which the two made press statements.

"Bulgaria and its armed forces have played an extremely important role in building the NATO battle group on the territory of Bulgaria", said General Lavigne.

He added that Bulgaria's contribution to the Alliance is also of decisive importance, especially as regards the Black Sea region and the Eastern flank.
